I think it is fair to say that Stocking Sam has been well loved in his time. A wonderful c.1920's teddy bear who stands 18 inches tall.
Stocking Sam has lost much of his mohair and is so called because his body was been recovered many years ago with some old stockinette. He is mostly soft filled with a big lumpy growler in his chest, the filling has settled rather in his arms and legs. Sam's foot pads are also covered in old stocking, and his paws have sadly been sewn up.
One of the things I love most about the old boy are his embroidered eyes.....I guess the original glass ones were either deemed too dangerous or were lost many years ago. I'm also very fond of the 'butcher's apron' type shorts that he has clearly always lived in.
