Deirdre....I was told, is French, and I have no reason to doubt it. This wonderful duck dates to c.1930's and stands 13 x 15 inches tall.

The old girl has seen much better days, with little mohair left and holes to fabric and felt. She is very firmly wood wool filled with wire armitures to her jointed legs and feet.

Deirdre has had some beak problems and some naive repairs have been administered, she also lost her original eyes long ago and was given an embroiderd pair, but they suit her well enough.

I like Deidre a lot.....she's sort of life size.
